The Importance of Support
A rich tradition of giving at Ivanhoe Grammar School can be traced back to 1919 when the Reverend Sydney Buckley's vision of expanding the School from a small one of 37 students, created in 1915, led to the purchase of the site on which the School now stands. This purchase would not have been possible without the generosity of both the Diocesan Board and friends of the School.
Since that time many others have helped continue our founder's vision through gifts to the School for the first-class educational programs and facilities as well as scholarships that support current and future students.
With approximately 80 per cent of the School’s annual income coming from School fees, a heavy reliance on Government funding and continued ambitious plans for the future, the School needs to increase its endowment funds to protect and grow the financial independence which has enabled our students’ continued learning and growth over the past century.
How your gift can make a difference
Funds raised ensure that we remain at the forefront of education in Australia by:
- Maintaining, updating and expanding our facilities and programs
- Offering a range of funded scholarships and bursaries
The Board seeks to ensure that Ivanhoe maintains its position into the twenty-first century through a careful policy of upgrading facilities while retaining the capacity to attract and support a diverse and talented community of students and staff. None of this would be possible without the support of the Ivanhoe community. Learn more about the difference a gift to Ivanhoe can make.
